THE LORD OF THE RINGS by J.R.R. Tolkien First UK Editions Published by Allen and Unwin, London, 1962-66. A complete set of the original English First Editions, in matching jackets. Twelfth, twelfth and tenth impressions, respectively. This set is becoming scarcer, resulting in ever-increasing prices. Tolkien remains one of the most collectible authors today. Condition: Fellowship: Darkening to jacket spine, as all volumes (SEE PHOTOS). A few, small closed tears and loss to the corners, with one mark cover and on lower back panel. Price-clipped. Book has very faint foxing to inner boards, otherwise in near fine condition or better. No marks, tears or folds. Map intact and in excellent condition. Two Towers: Darkening to jacket spine and edges (SEE PHOTOS). Very slight loss to foot of jacket. Price intact. Book otherwise has no faults, mo marks, tears or folds. Binding tight, map present and in excellent condition. Return of the King: Darkening to jacket spine, with closed tears (1/2"-3/4") to folds, and 1/4" loss to foot of spine, and very slight loss to tips. One very faint fold mark to part of FFEP. No marks, tears or folds. Binding tight, as with others. Map present and in excellent condition. Other than the tanning to the jacket spines, with the small tears and wear noted, the books themselves are in near fine to fine condition. A very collectible set. Buyer pays shipping at cost. Insurance and tracking are required. Please ask for a shipping estimate as Ebay estimates are do not include insurance and tracking. An invoice will be provided with accurate postage after purchase.
