This auction is for a first edition of 'The Fellowship of the Ring', the first part of J.R.R.Tolkien's masterpiece 'The Lord of the Rings'. This is a very nice early impression from 1955 (4th impression), just one year after the book was first published. There's a few marks and knocks as shown in photos. A few pages have a little nick at the bottom as shown. Previous owners inscription, and the second-hand bookshop price in pencil. A small bookshop sticker ('Bowes & Bowes, Trinity Street, Cambridge) which I think is actually quite a nice vintage touch, so I didn't try and remove it. You might like to keep it too :) No dust jacket, and slight spine roll as per photos, but nothing too dramatic. Will be sent well packaged, and by recorded delivery (with tracking) from Lovely Leitrim, here in the Republic of Ireland.
