"The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth" is a 28 page, 6"x8.25" softcover written by J. R. R. Tolkien and published in 1991 by Anglo-Saxon Books (Pinner, Middlesex) in a limited, numbered edition of 300 copies (this being No. 141) to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Maldon.
It contains a three-page essay on the battle (which pitted an Anglo-Saxon force under Beorhtnoth against an invading Viking army in AD 991) and an alliterative poem inspired by the battle's aftermath and titled "The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth Beorhthelm's Son." The material was first published in 1953 in the journal Essays and Studies by Members of the English Association.
In very good condition with a mild bump to the foot of the spine, unmarked interior, sound stapled binding.
