Hi!
I'm sorry to revive this old post, but I need your help.
Have you ever seen a copy of SD CoH without the limitation number on the plate? Here's a pic.
Thank you!

Yes. Have also seen one with no limitation page and all of the plates identical to the frontispiece.

Thank you, Stu!
So is it impossible to find out the number of this copy, unless it is stated in the original box?
It was probably a late publisher's sample (the copy with all the identical plates was such). I don't imagine the copy you are looking at was ever numbered, and sits outside of the official 500 numbered copies. I've seen at least one previous unnumbered copy (could be this same one, of course).

Unfortunately, this copy lacks the original box. It has been bought in a second-hand bookshop in Italy (quite odd for this specific edition) for €150. I don't have an idea how it came there...
It could be some proof copy or faulty or extra one made by the printer. Since this edition (like the deluxe) has been printed in Italy by L.E.G.O. it seems plausible that a faulty copy of some kind came into the market, especially in some second hand book shops.
Do you have the clamshell at least?

Yes, it could be, maybe an extra copy, or maybe they forgot to number it!
The book has its clamshell case. At a first glance, the colour plates are ok, and the map too.

Looks like you got a great deal! Just don't write "3" in it, as I have that one!
