Does anyone have any information or opinion on the next release of a deluxe edition. whether it is the "regular" deluxes or like the last release of the LotR (or a super deluxe...I don't think so but, who knows) :)
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this falls squarely into the realm of speculation, which is frowned upon if not outright prohibited on this forum.
That said, I totally understand why you'd pose this question here. There are a lot of knowledgable people, some with closer ties to HarperCollins and the Tolkien Estate than most of us will ever have. Maybe there are rumblings out there, but in most cases those in the know will be bound not to say anything–the rest is just guesswork.
I will offer this: Based on previous behavior, I doubt we've seen the last of HC deluxifying Tolkien books. Sumptuosity is fated by Mandos to endure, it seems.

Thanks for reply :). Obviously it was a vague question certainly but without any bad intention (to "extract" real information, especially that those who would have a real information, would certainly have it wisely, not divulge it). I think speculating about the future in a friendly way and thinking what might be the next book to go deluxe is still a relatively basic subject (everyone does it) but I understand the point of view of the site.
Yup, I totally get it. Generally speaking, reddit.com/r/tolkienbooks and the Tolkien Collectors B/S/T FB group seem game to speculate openly. (You'll also find many of the same key members as you'll find here, so you won't lack for informed opinions!)
I think the idea is that TCG is really a repository for fact-based discussion about books that exist or are soon to come out. Anything less than factual muddles the mixture and can possibly mislead visitors into making the wrong purchase decisions.
Don't worry though, it's clear no harm was meant in your post–and I promise this forum isn't nearly as stuffy as I've probably made it out to be! Just thought I'd chime in, as I've been party to some speculation myself on these forums, and have had these points explained to me by patient mods/admins.

Thank you very much. It is appreciated that you took the time to explain the habits and customs of the site to me. Especially on this point, it is very kind of you. and I am very happy to be here, it reminds me of the time when I myself created a circle of Tolkien lovers (back then it was meetings in library rooms). I can't wait to exchange with this community :)
You have arrived at the nexus, my friend, at least as far as the physical (and digital) books are concerned. Though, I have noticed some stuff occasionally posted here that isn't strictly related to book collecting, which is always interesting.
r/tolkienfans is a great spot for discussions of the works themselves, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Prancing Pony Podcast if you don't already listen to it. Definitely check out the one where one of our most esteemed members Aelfwine appears as a guest to discuss his work on the Nature of Middle Earth and other topics. I also hear TCG admin and owner Uruloke has made a recent appearance, though I haven't listened to it yet.

thank you, I will take a look without a doubt. For the Podcast, I am already a regular listener, I love it :)
We already have a thread devoted to this kind of discussion. A little speculation never hurt anyone. However, please no speculation positioned as fact unless you have some factual evidence to back it up.

Thank you for the advice Mr Underhill :)
I think it is worth saying that asking if anyone happens to *know* what the next deluxe edition will be is completely within the accepted rules of the site. It is a perfectly sensible question. It isn't inviting speculation.
What wouldn't be OK would be to ask "what do people *think* the next deluxe edition will be?"
One is a question that is asking for factual information, and the other asking for someone to pull something out of their bum based on speculation. In my mind the OPs question was totally valid and I wouldn't have been remotely twitching my moderator moustache.
It is grey area, but generally so long as we aren't trying to solicit people throwing in all their random ideas as to what the book might be, what colour it might be, whether it will have a ribbon marker, etc, we are all good.
