Congratulations, northman!

Is the dustjacket of The Sonnets of William Alabaster shorter than the book itself?

Little question for those who have it. I just grabbed the 1966 Unwin paperback (I already had the 17th and 18th impressions). on the photo of the copyright page, is the 16th (therefore 1st impression) impression shown like this? Thank you ?

  • I try to delete my post but I can t ? I ve had my answer ?

ShadowFx : So what's the answer?

I also have a 17th impression 1966, but very difficult to find the 16th (first thus) of this edition. The 17th is rather scarce to find btw.
Your second picture should be from a later impression, as there is no price on the front lower cover.

"Difficult" would be a understatement - more like "next to impossible".

I have an 18th and have been looking for a 17th or 16th for the longest time. I thought I found a 17th about a month ago as the listing on ABE said "2nd impression" but when the seller sent me pictures it was from 1972 And yes Emilien is right that picture shown is the cover of an 8th or later print, as the price was removed starting with that one.

Yes, it was a "rookie" mistake on this one, maybe need a pair of glasses (isbn = later prints) ??

P.S: while digging a little on TCG I found a conversation where Christina and Wayne were showing a copy with the copyright page and I must admit that in 20 years of research I have just never seen a copy of this famous 16th print. So if there really were 20,000 copies, they must be very, very well hidden ?
