Online resources on similar edition collections?

Hey,

I'm new to this forum and relatively new to collecting Tolkien, so pardon me if this has been addressed before but I'm looking for information on books that are designed in a similar way. I call them collections although I'm not sure how to call them. Series?, sets? I found this post on the recent HC paperbacks.

But I was wondering if there were any online resources on the other collections or sets of books. I'm looking especially on intel on the white (unwin paperbacks) and black (unicorn unwin paperbacks) with Roger Garland covers. I already have several of them but I would like to have the complete collection of course. Anyway I can find out which titles were published in what collection in general and for the garland editions in particular?

There isn't a site that groups things quite like you are looking for. But if you go to Tolkienbooks.net and search for "garland", for example - you should find what you need in that particular case.

Thank you. I feel silly, that it never occured to me that I could use the searchbar on tolkienbooks.net, that will help me a lot with my Garland collection. It would be wonderful to browse collections but I can also see that there might arise issues of grey areas of what belongs to a collection.

I think these are all the "white" paperbacks, but not really sure that this edition of The Hobbit is a good fit apart from the spine sort of matches.

This is beautiful. Thank you. There is also the history of LOTR. I believe they switched to John Howe from Morgoth's Ring onward. I only have Return of The Shadow. (Just yet) but it would be logic that the rest of the series would also have white spines.

Thanks did not remember that these editions had white spines, a seller on eBay had all four for sale, so I'm interested to see what the spines look like with these editions as well when they arrive

Redone the pictures with the other four Roger Garland editions, really like the covers.

I really like the artwork. I'll hunt all the Garland books down as my next collecting goal. Thank you for the pictures!
