Was just looking about at different editions of the 2002 HB tie-in, as ive been shopping around to get an intact DJ.(http://www.tolkienbooks.net/php/details2.php?id=479).
There's a nice variation between AU and UK printings (both 1st printings, otherwise identical):
The UK printing on the left is a smaller book, with a more uniform black cover texture.
The AUS edition on the right, has a textured cover, is about 1cm taller and a few mm thicker.
