Would be interesting to know how many of you on this forum own a 1st edition of the UK Hobbit

What abe does reflect however is how much is available on the market, or not...It shows essentially how much demand there is. The time an items lasts online at abe tells how many are interested (sort of). If a book of one of the lesser available items (like 1st print hobbit) stays on abe, it is overpriced... a lot can be learned from watching what comes and goes, what is there and what is not.

True for the common internet users. But I'm guessing that PH has another customer base.

I agree.

What we cannot know for sure though is the price it has actually been sold for..

I alerted the seller to the issue, and he replied thanking me (blaming his employees for the listing). I guess and hope he withdrew it.
