Interesting to see HC followed-up the impression history from the previous one-volume edition which had 3 impressions. This one states a 4th impression.
We know this is not a new edition for this book, but I would have hoped for a reset of the printing history, like they did for the '21 edition of Tales from the Perilous Realm, which was not technically a new edition either. I'll watch with great interest what will happen to the forthcoming deluxe, as this one will be a "true" first thus.
Paper seems to be recycled, and similar to the previous one-volume edition, maybe a bit thiner, but consistent with trade editions of some years ago after all.

I was a bit baffled by their decision on this. The Perilous Realms was almost identical (new jacket) yet they issued a new ISBN for it. This has new design, new boards, new cover, is a different size. None sensical decision.

My main regret is that they didn't upgrade to paper to the whiter paper or even the quality of the LOTR Reader's Guide which is both thinner (but not bible paper thin) and to my eyes (or fingers) better quality.

Yep Phil, if they would like to be consistent with what they did for TftPR, they would have reset the printing history and ISBN for this one.

That is interesting about continuing on from 3rd to 4th printing with this reset volume. Publishers tend to do that a lot with paperbacks, but it's much more rare to see with hardback resets.

The new dustjacket does look very handsome from these images. I agree with the sentiments on the paper choice though. I wish they would have split it into two volumes again if they were going to keep that type of paper.

I'm afraid the identical ISBN will cause some problems, if the book is purchased from sellers who use stock images
