The booklet so wide, much larger than the Facsimile Hobbit which essentially carries the same content. Looking at the video teaser of it the text has been made larger. Really seems an odd choice as one will have to keep it in the slip or else that slip will be too wide. There appears to be nothing new in the booklet, which is a shame given that it is such a prominent part of the overall package.

Agreed, I was kind of taken aback when I learned there was not a whole lot of new content in the booklet, and then saw how much room it was taking up in the case. I will reserve judgment until I get mine, but I agree it is rather odd looking.

It was a shock to see it so large.

Overall I give HC a decent return each year but I think I will skip the deluxe on this one. I am out of space and have the standard anyway.

The booklet contains all six facsimile pages from The Pryftan Fragment, four of which have not previously been reproduced anywhere.

There was a discussion on reddit just a month ago about whether or not Rateliff was correct in his reading of "wire worms", so this publication of those pages is very timely.

I also think this booklet looks a lot more attractive than the booklet in the facsimile gift set, and I really wish they'd sell it on its own instead of locking it with the deluxe edition which I don't care for.

Ahha, I did remember something whirring around in my head that was new.Not really enough to keep me on the hook though unfortunately.

Man I really love the look of the other two deluxe editions in this series, but this one is easily (in my opinion) the best looking one of the 3. They truly out did themselves with this one and I can't wait to get both in the hand. I'll be taking a LOT of pictures I'm sure haha.

I find the kindle version of this edition has standardized some words:
(Chap 12, AH p276) What are we to do now, [to-day>]today?
(Chap 13, AH p301) We can go no further [to-day>]today.
(Chap 16, AH p330) Now I will make you an offer[! !>]! This was discussed in https://www.tolkienguide.com/modules/n ... ewtopic.php?topic_id=5250
I don't have the physical editions, so I am unsure if they are changed in print as well.

BTW, it also corrects two mistakes in previous kindle editions (the incorrect text is still being used on Digital Tolkien):
and blew out another even bigger [smokering>]smoke-ring
as good as May can be, can be,
