If you are in the UK worth remembering that HarperCollins have 40% off sales on a fairly regular basis, so that puts the price at £60
Excellent news! I am thrilled they are redoing the pagination. It will make research much easier. I am another who is going to need to free up some shelf space. I"ll definitely be buying these.

The pagination is really great news!
I am thinking that I will retire some volumes as I simply do not have the room for so many versions of the same books. I really like matte covers so I am in, and as I said above, John Howe hardcovers have long been on my wishlist. I am thinking that I will present all the matte series on its own bookcase for a while, if I can make room and convince the boss
Absolutely fantastic news. I was already working on getting an HOME set with consistently formatted spines and then these come out. The pagination formatting is the icing on the cake.
I did not see this coming at all, but I think it explains why they seemed to be dragging on the 'print on demand stuff'. I can't wait to get the John Howe version! This also gives me a lot of hope that there could be a newer boxed set for History of The Hobbit, as the old ones are quite difficult to come by.

I'm not sure I see a new History of the Hobbit on the horizon to be honest. They have added the single volume edition in the recent matte style after all and the box set lacks content. But if they quietly reprinted the original 3 volume box, I'm sure that would sell well.

Thats exactly what I mean, but maybe with the updated artwork/style from the new single volume thats just released. The single volume edition (from my online perspective) has been pretty "mixed" because of the insane size. I think the 3 volume boxed set with updated artwork would sell better. And boxed sets are just so dang fun
