I bought my copy for £74.46 (plus postage) on 17 June 2012 from Amazon UK. It is not price clipped and has an ownership inscription from 1982. Otherwise it's condition is close to Fine.
Taking the book out to photograph it this morning, i realized my copy is unclipped. I don't know why i trust my memory anymore.
Does anyone have a copy of this where "EXODUS" on the spine hasn't faded to yellow? I don't think I have ever actually seen a copy where it is still the same orange as on the front (despite no other signs of fading).
This book seems somewhat unique among Tolkien books in how infrequently it's been printed. Finn and Hengest is somewhat similar but even that has at least had multiple paperback releases including a very recent one.
I would guess it's because HC doesn't own the rights to publishing it, and OUP doesn't see a benefit/profit in releasing it again?
