Seems like it will be a weird size on the shelf. Assuming the books are the usual 9" height, the clamshell is probably about 10" wide, and maybe 6-7" tall.
Or you could turn it sideways and have the spine text be sideways, which will bother me!

Quite possibly has small magnets. I've had packaging boxes that use them to secure the lid. Wasteful/pointless for packaging, but effective.
