Obviously, I’m not buying this edition, but in general, I don’t care about the number beyond a mild preference for a single/double digit number for aesthetic reasons. I used to care more than I do now.
People who harp on about low numbers are usually dealers trying to sell you a copy at a significant premium.
Interestingly, with Folio Hobbits on the used market, there doesn’t appear to have been any low number premium achieved with the sales I have followed.

Personally, love low numbered limited (and lettered) editions - the lower the more desirable....
No particular logical reason - just the way it is.....

Same for me

One question that I think we have not discussed is if the limitaton page with the information, number and signature is expected to be only in The Fellowship of the Ring, or in all three volumes? How has it been for previous limited editions from Folio and HarperCollins?

It is only in the first book, Alan would have to sign 3,000 times instead of 1,000 if it was in all three.

If anyone were capable of that, it would be Alan :)

I received a message from DPD this morning: "We’re expecting your Harper Collins Publishers parcel. We'll be in touch when we have it and it's out for delivery"
I was just wondering about that “ Your edition will be dispatched by November 14th” No message received here yet
