Unwin Hyman 1987 Hobbit 50th Anniversary Booklet edited by Brian Alderson.
Issued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Hobbit. It includes extracts from Tolkien’s letters to George Allen & Unwin. Quotes from a letter to Charles Furth dated 25 April 1937 regarding the jacket design for The Hobbit. Reproduces the second page and quotes from a letter to Charles Furth dated 19 December 1937 informing him that he had ”written the first chapter of a new story about Hobbits – ‘A long expected party’.”
Fine/Unread Condition, not easy to find in this condition.

Sir Orfeo 1954 edited by AJ Bliss. 2nd Printing 1961. This is volume four in the Oxford English Monographs series. Tolkien was one of the General Editors for the series. Bliss says in his introduction:
"It is a pleasure to record the debts which I have incurred in preparing this edition of Sir Orfeo: to Professor J.R.R. Tolkien, whose penetrating scholarship is an inspiration to all who have worked with him... to the editors of the Oxford English Monographs, who agreed to include this volume in the series..."
Book is fine/unread, but lacks the dust jacket. Not easy to find in good shape.

Viga-Glums Saga 1940 edited by G. Turville-Petre. 1st Printing 1940. This is volume one in the Oxford English Monographs series. Tolkien and CS Lewis were two of the General Editors for the series.
In the introduction Turville-Petre says: "It would be difficult to overestimate all that I owe to Professor Tolkien; his sympathy and encouragement have been constant and, throughout the work, I have had the benefit of his wide scholarship."
Book is used and read with some discoloration on binding, lacks the dust jacket, but text is clean with no writing or marks at all. Hard to find in any condition.

1950 HMCO Farmer Giles of Ham Advance Reading Copy complete with publisher’s slip.
Sent out in advance of Tolkien’s second publication with HoughtonMifflin and four years before The Fellowship of the Ring would be published in the U.S.
As you can see there is some DJ loss. The bookshop I bought it from said they acquired it from a shop in Pittsburgh that closed down, there is a small label from that shop attached to the back flap. Publishers slip has been adhered to the front endpapers at some point in time.
