I've considered those waxy paper sleeves so that I can slide them in the slip case, but I haven't tried that yet.

Has anyone tried those? If alongside the books for an extended period of time, would it damage the covers at all?

I didn't want to use a sleeve or folder that I'll need to keep apart from the slip case or box.

I usually use Lineco acid free tissue paper. Nothing expensive and relatively easy to get.

I recommend the buffered version fwiw
