Lack of space is a curse which I am all too familiar with. I really need an extra bookcase, but I only have one place I could put it in my office where it would never get any sunlight, and that screws up my desk positioning, so I have given up on the idea and just have to accept a percentage of my books packed away in boxes at any given point in time. It is a frustration - though I suppose it probably saves me money as it means I have to be specific on what I collect!
I feel the same way. The lack of space has saved me a lot of money. And even though it‘s frustrating to have to move books from the shelf (I have a little cheating shelf for my current reading copies and then boxes) I love the challenge that comes with every new acquisition: How am I going to fit it in? Where is it going to go? What is it going to push off the shelf?
Certainly I'm not the only one to have noticed that sweet LEGO Black Pearl build?!
I'm planning on building that set, along with the new Star Trek Enterprise over my next week and and half work break.
But, LEGO aside, I love your shelves! Wonderful collection you have going!

I’ve said it before, but this time I mean it: My shelf is full.
What’s great is that at the same time my wishlist is currently empty.
Here’s what I added this year (top to bottom):
2024 WM Collector’s Hobbit (1st) and Silmarillion (1st)
to match the respective LotR
1982 Ballantine Silmarillion (2nd)
to kind of match my `90s Ballantines
1997 Folio Society Hobbit (21st) and Silmarillion (13th)
to complete a set of recent German printings
2026 HC Deluxe Letters (1st)
2014 HC Beowulf (1st)
1984 Easton Press Tolkien’s Classics (recent printing)
2020 HC UT (1st)
I’ve had this for a while, but it’s new on the shelf :)
2004 HM Silmarillion (19th)
in addition to the 1st, because this one is covered in actual cloth
2006 HC Sir Gawain (13th)
2015 HC Fall of Arthur (1st)
2023 German Deluxe AI Hobbit (1st)

If WM release an orange UT later this year, I can still put it on top. Other than that, I think I’m done with this shelf. :)

… but what about second shelf?
