50% discount makes it palatable.

Ordered the UK editions from HC with the 50% discount. Quite reasonable I think and they are nice sets.

It's 50% off again this weekend at HC UK. Ordered this and the Myths and Legends Vol. 2 Box. I have to go through a remailing service, as HC does not ship to Germany, but that's worth it at 50% off.

I am looking forward to this set, but I will pick it up with a 40% discount this summer on release.

I personally thought a Silmarillion was the next in line, but it makes sense to wait with that one until next year. What I really hope they will publish however, is a «The Fall of Númenor» deluxe edition in this style. It would be the natural next book to do really, as it is the last one that's fully illustrated just by Alan Lee.

Maybe with a few new paintings to make it more special, like a «Sauron fighting Gil-Galad and Elendil» scene. If I am allowed to dream a little.

I feel like that would be a better option for a deluxe edition of Númenor, rather than the one coming this autumn. Although that one is a special edition.

Doubtful in the short term, given the Author illustrated style edition that's coming out later this year.

The obvious one would be Unfinished Tales... but why not put it in a set with The Silmarillion and Book of Lost Tales?

I don't think "Special Edition" means anything. No more than "Collectors Edition" or any of the other marketing words HarperCollins tag onto books from time to time.
