except there are some surprises....such as two identical fold out maps (strangely not three) and one does need to remove these else a tight fit.

If this is the 'Map of Beleriand and the Lands to the North' including a 'CJRT' initial, that is correct in terms of map inclusion. Though I am surprised they are including two in this boxset as they are identical in both The Children of Húrin and The Fall of Gondolin. Beren and Lúthien contains no maps.

Can you say what the new art is ?
Arrived today, in publishers box. My copy of the Fall of Gondolin has a bend running full length down the spine. Other than that they look great.

Yes, X2 'Map Of Beleriand and the Lands to the North' including a 'CJRT' initial.
Yes,the two maps are indentical.
Yes, no map within Beren and Luthien.
I was surprised too by two identical maps being within the same boxset but then again the maps were within the separate volumes of COH and FOG so as was.

That bend running down the spine is pretty noticeable, and it looks like part of the stamping is missing from the monogram on FoG? I would return that for a replacement if it were me...

Another niggle, they’ve added “Illustrated by Alan Lee” to the spine
That was always present in the mock-up image.
