TCG Letter #2035 from G.E.K. Braunholtz to J.R.R. Tolkien 10 October 1937The entry states G.E.K. Braunholtz was a colleague from Oxford and a footnote states that he was a member of the Phological [sic] Society at Oxford.
Braunholtz was Professor of Comparative Philology and fellow of Worcester College. I assume that he was a member of the
Philological Society.

Yes, he also served as one of it's officers for a time.

In my book J. R. R. Tolkien the Esperantist, in which I draw on previously unpublished documents to recount Tolkien's involvement with Esperanto, I also mention Professor Braunholtz, who appears among the patrons—alongside Tolkien and others—of the British Esperanto Congress held in Oxford from 14 to 17 April 1933.
The following appears in The British Esperantist (January 1933, p. 10):
"Patrons: H.R.H. The Duke of Connaught, K.G.; His Worship the Mayor of Oxford (Alderman G. H. Brown); Sir Michael Sadler, K.C.S.I., C.B.; Professor Braunholtz; Councillor Rev. John Carter, Dr. A. D. Lindsay, C.B.E., Master of Balliol College, Professor J.R. Tolkien, and A. Baratt Brown, Principal of Ruskin College."

He's a bit of an anomaly... of the Coalbiters, only he and John Bryson don't have biographical articles on Wikipedia. I'd like to sort that out.
