Hello everyone, some of my recent acquisitions.
Among those of importance :
- The Hobbit, 1954, HMCO in stellar condition
- The Hobbit, 1972, Introduced for Schools by R.S. Fowler, first impression 1972
- two uncommon editions of the Hobbit illustrated by Michael Hague (Unwin Hyman 1988, and Harper Collins 1992)
- Seinte Katerine and The Katerine Group from MS Bodley 34, byt S.R.T.O d'Ardenne. (with many references to Tolkien, as Simone d'Ardenne presented her PhD (Seinte Iuliene) under the direction of Tolkien. The Katerine Group has the particularity to be the late André Crepin's copy (with his bookplate), who has been one of the best specialists of old English in France and previously chairman of the Old english philology department at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
- A bright copy of The Two Towers, 2nd impression HMCO 1955
- The ellusive Tolkien Studies Vol. 6
- Tolkien's Legendarium first edition
- A library copy of A Remembrancer, first edition (one of the few copies sent to library I guess... This one comes from Oxford Brookes University Library)
- Some Paperbacks which come enriching my paperback collection (among those a bright copy of "Blue Wizards" Unfinished Tales, found for a few € at a second hand book store in Paris...) Also some reprints of the Book of Lost Tales vol. 1 and 2, with a what seems unusual 'early' Grafton logo on the spine.
- First French Editions of the Lord of the Rings, with the extremely scarce 'Obi-s' showing the 'best foreign novel award' obtained by the Lord of the Rings in France in 1972. (I have never seen The Obi for vol.2 before.)
- The Russian 2 volumes edition of the Lord of the Rings illustrated by Serguei Lukhimov in a medieval, icon-like style
- Smith of Wootton Major, illustrated in full colour by Denis Gordeev (This one is really tricky to come by) which completes my collection of Tolkien works illustrated by Gordeev.

Great additions as always Emilien! Thanks for sharing
After getting a very rare Hobbit 50th anniversary tryptic, I managed to find a double sided poster I have never seen before, promoting... The 60th anniversary of the Hobbit.

Thanks ! Was lucky to find this one I guessUrulókë wrote:
Great poster find! These marketing materials are so hard to find these days.

I received today a very hard to find book: A Finnish Grammar, by Charles N. E. Eliot
One of the very first books that started Tolkien's interest for Finnish, which lead him to invent Quenya.
We know he borrowed this book at Exeter College's library several times :

Very happy to add this to my collection. (With a bonus, as the book contains a signed letter by the author).
