Hi all, has anybody else noticed that the newer (additional) illustrations in this edition appear noticebly more blurry (low quality picture perhaps?) than the older illustrations?
Can you show us some examples and comparisons? Then I can check and report back with photos for comparisons to see if it is a general thing?

That is amazing! What do you like the most about it?
Mine arrived last week. I am quite happy, though I wish they wouldn't have used green, but something that matches or contrasted more with the outer design (LR's red printing nicely fitted with the grey and blue and silver, green is neither good matching color nor a beautiful contrast color). Other than that I'm quire happy.
Some corrections to our unboxing video from HarperCollins.
Just to note that the hidden painting inside the slipcase is actually an entirely new composition, painted specially for this set; and the sprayed edge is a detail from Alan’s painting of Rivendell included as a special art print in the £600 Folio edition.

Is there a clear image anywhere of the full painting ?

The smell? Haha, I know that's weird. It just brought back memories as the smell of the new book wafted to me as I opened it. I don't buy $100+ new books (aside from this one), so it seemed premium to me. Like the LotR set last year, this seems like a copy to pass down and that will still be readable a long time from now.
