Recently acquired something very rare I believe. The uncorrected proof of Stanley Unwin's autobiography, The truth about a publisher (1960).
The author mentions his memories about the publications of the Hobbit and the Lord of the rings. (Page 233 and 300-301)
But the real treasure here is the book belonged to (Margaret) Joy Hill who has written her signature on the FFEP. Maybe she reviewed this proof when she was employed by GA&U, before being nominated as Tolkien's personnal secretary.
