Hello EmilK,

I have the same thing. Have ordered the books and already paid and got confirmation. I guess they released it a little bit earlier than the countdown.

Great for us, but this is just cruel and atricious for people who are sitting and waiting for the HarperCollins email or have planned their day to log on at 13:00 GMT. :(

I hope it does not sell out before then.

It was in my basket but I couldn't pay until after logging in.
They are following the FS model re putting it up for sale early. I've not received the email telling me it is up for sale from HC yet.

I feel the same way. I was refreshing the page, that's how i noticed it went up early, but not everyone is sitting ready early like I was.

I just happen to stumble upon it by sheer conincidence. I was just gonna boot up browser tabs for my email that I used to register for the newsletter, this website, the HarperCollins website and the landing page and I saw the add to basket button. I think in the future I will be ready one hour before the official launch time and just refresh the page once every few minutes. Perhaps a bit overkill, but with the strange early release now happening more than once (and also for different publishers) it is difficult to know if it is intended or not and for some, it could be a psychological risk that is simply too large to take.

Agreed. Seems a bit unfair. I'd planned to be in from work at 1pm! Managed to get one anyway.

Perhaps they do this to limit potential of a website crash?

I agree, I expected this, that's why I was ready. Hope everyone that wants a copy get's one. I'm happy with mine. I'm very curious though when they will ship it, because it says by 14 November it will be shipped, but I don't understand if that means that on 14 November they will start shipping all of them, or if that is like a deadline on which they want all the books to be shipped already.

In my experience from buying books online, it often means that this is the last date at which the package is handed over to a transport company but I do not want to speculate on how it works for HarperCollins or this edition in particular.

I would, however, encourage people who bought this edition, but live outside the UK, to keep tabs on your email, phone and physical mailbox as this is expected to involve extra customs payments. It may work differently in different countries, but in Sweden you get a notice from the carrier and they ask you to give them a limited power of attorney to handle customs declarations etc. and to pay the customs fees. For Sweden, I used one of those calculators at the Swedish Customs website to calculate and it ended up being on the order of 40 GBP (due to the high value of the edition).

The key here is that if the package is left without customs payment, it will be returned to the sender after a number of days or weeks, so worth keeping an eye out for such notices. Sometimes they can come as a paperslip in the mailbox, but I have most often had it as an email or a text message, but your mileage may vary.
