This was too expensive, IMHO, given the description states ex-libris with stamps and markings. I think these are fairly common. Only the offprint with just Tolkien's contribution is rare, from what I can tell.
"Remarks: This book comes from a partially dissolved academic library and bears the corresponding markings (spine label, institute stamp, etc.); otherwise, the book is in good condition for its age. The paper and binding are browned due to age. In French."

I think I paid $50 for mine back in the day. My records on what I paid for the offprint are less clear, but looks like under $100.
