I created a youtube channel to show the books I have in my collection.

The first book I'm showing is The Letters of JRR Tolkien (JRR Tolkien's letters) first edition, first impression.I hope you enjoy!

Does anyone have "State 1" of this book? Wondering how common it might be relative to the corrected states.

1) Pages 406-407 and 427-428 imposed in reverse order. (These were distributed to reviewers before the error was noted) - See more at: http://www.tolkienbooks.net/php/detai ... 5160#sthash.tzozSFQ1.dpuf

I keep thinking I should get a copy (I have the second state, with the replacement pages attached to the old stubs), but I can never quite be bothered with the whole rigmarole of determining which version a given copy is (as sellers don't seem to notice).

My copy of the first edition seems to be a variant of "State 1" with pages 406-407 and 428-429 in reverse order... So "State 1" but with pages 428-429 in reverse instead of 427-428. No replacements or corrections have been made whatsoever.

Thanks tolkienbrasil!

That was fun to watch, and has me thinking of an educational youtube channel (explaining differences between editions/states, showing examples of bookseller terms, etc.) - perhaps members here can help out too!

For those interested, here is the link to tolkienbrasil's YouTube channel (there are already two more videos up, Roverandom and Bilbo's Last Song): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj5-YE_x424rzcBrkVxHu1w

I think it may useful to give some information on the books that you show in the video text, for the three so far, why not include the page from www.tolkienbooks.net about those editions.

Ignore this you have to click on Show more to get it.
