Someone in Australia was asking on a f/book group just now about where they might obtain a facsimile d/w for their 1942 Hobbit. Can anyone help?
Incidentally, I'd quite like one myself, for my own copy.

You can get them from this site,

Just be aware that they have a few small issues, as they were based off an earlier version of my 1946 facsimile that I produced for my personal use. The top of The Hobbit on the spine is very slightly truncated, is probably the only thing the average punter might notice. Unless you want to print it out yourself, I think these are the only commercially available ones, anyway.
For your own personal use, Garm, I can provide you the file to print it yourself (issues corrected).
Edit: I actually reprinted my 4th a few months back, as that spine was irritating me. 3rd Impression is identical save for the double comma and impression statement.
Stu, I have been looking at the 3rd and 4th Impression dust-jackets, and the text was reset between them, there are other differences than just the double comma.
An example is the last line Lady is right justified on the 1946 but not on the 1942.
7s. 6d. Net the 7 is flush with the s on the 1946 but dropped to line up with s on the 1942 dust-jacket.

Cool - Will update my files - can you send me pictures of the 42? Already have loads of images of the 46.
Actually have one blurred image of the 42 showing the difference in "Lady", but slightly higher res would help me position it accurately.
This is probably about as arsed as I can be to re-typeset (may as well scan actual jackets at some point)...
Lowered the "7" and the "s" on story, per your photos, as those are easy, obvious things.
I notice that I also have the wrong form of italic "w" on New Statesman and Nation. That isn't an error specifically on the 3rd. I also have it incorrect on the 4th. Handy that I can just reprint it (although I prob won't bother, tbh)
