kindle version of this edition (9780008560317) corrects many typos in previous kindle editions. It seems the print versions (I checked 77, 98 and 04 editions) are always correct in these listed cases.

Received my copy last night, although it arrived damaged. I'll have to put in for a replacement, sigh...

I'm with you Chad. This is so frustrating. Where did you buy this one?

Blackwells, first time I've had a problem with them.

Sounds a lot like a manufacturing issue, no ?

HC (or really the various printers they use) really need to take a second look at their QA/QC process. My The Fall of Númenor (trade) came damaged -- under it's shrinkwrap, so was obviously damaged before Blackwell's got it.Mr. Underhill wrote:

Blackwells, first time I've had a problem with them.
They told me to keep it and refunded my original order (which works out in my favor because now it's about $3 cheaper than it was previously) but it's frustrating, especially when the issue was there PRE-shipment. I'm sure they (Blackwell's) get reimbursed by HC for the book but not sure on the shipping related costs.
Was the first time I've ever had a book I ordered from Blackwell's come damaged (outside of maybe a dinged up corner on the dustjacket which I can live with considering their shipping from the UK to the US).

This is most certainly an issue with the printer and not the actual fault of Blackwells (although I suppose they could do a spot check before packing it up to ship)

I received the 2022 German editions of LOTR and S this morning.
Pictured is the German S with both its English counterpart and the companion German LOTR released last year. You can see the subtle and not so subtle differences between the English and German editions. Font color, size, etc… The German doesn’t have fold out maps, they are on the end papers.
The ‘22 German LOTR is pictured with the ‘04 LOTR so you can get a sense of the maroon coloring, thickness and height. It’s got a leather binding and unadorned slipcase, not illustrated.

Has "Untitled (‘Winged sun’) [device]" been published anywhere else before?
And has "Untitled (Frieze of Trees)" previously appeared anywhere other than the tolkien estate website?
I'm thinking these two drawings are new to this book.
