The French equivalent of the recent Deluxe edition of the Lord of the Rings is planned for the 26th October, with Daniel Lauzon's translation, at Bourgois éditeur, just in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the French translation of the book and of the death of Tolkien.

I can add some information to this.

The first 500 pre-orders will receive as gifts :
- a large format poster of the illustration "The Hill: Hobbiton-across-the Water" in color
- a tote bag
- bookmarks (if the bookseller has a set)
On the other hand, I doubt that this applies to foreign buyers. But if any of you are really interested let me know, I should be able to help.

Also, as you can see on the site, the edition should be limited.

Those pocket edition covers really are very beautiful looking. I'll be interested to see how these turn out in reality.

Thank you remy. They are much prettier in person. I think I may need those

We had already talked about it when it was published but only a few images of the interior were shared here.

Here is a detailed video on the first French edition of the Atlas of Middle Earth by Karen W. Fonstad

An exceptional work for its size, the complete modernization of the maps (and the errors quickly corrected from its first printing).

It would be lovely to get an edition in English like that!

Who knows, DMRoberts, maybe it will happen one day
Several foreign publishers have already bought the rights to this edition (I remember Brazil in 2022).

Probably less interesting for English readers who do not speak French, here is nevertheless the video analysis of the Lord of the Rings latest French edition.
Some proofreading and translation concerns, particularly with the textual additions (Hammond's note and 3rd part of the index), too bad, because the rest of the edition is very good and equivalent to the British edition.
