Storing old books “off the bookshelf”

Hi all,
I have the need to store some rare/older Tolkien books for awhile not on the bookshelf. My home is air conditioned and tends to be around 65-75F, humidity 30-60% depending on the season.
Right now they are in large ziploc bags wrapped in bubble wrap in a box. My wife mentioned that the airtight bags might be trapping moisture in which could be bad.
I’ve thought of putting some silica gel packs in the ziploc bags and resealing them, or perhaps just vacuum sealing them in.
Curious what others think of this approach. Am I making a mistake?
Or perhaps there is some other well established method of storing old/rare books off the shelf?
