Tolkien writes back to Furth in regard to the dust jacket design for The Hobbit. Furth wrote on April 15th that the pink hue that Tolkien put on the mountains make them look "a trifle[!] like a cake." Tolkien has redrawn the jacket in the correct size to fit the book this time, and removed the pink from the mountains but the sun and dragon are still red. He also returns his original paper model of the jacket design, but leaves final design decisions to Furth.
