Hilary's Aunt Mabel writes in reply to his letter.Citation needed[1] She has been unwell for quite some time and is only able to travel short distances. She hopes to be well enough in the Spring to see them again. She has heard that Hilary has made some improvements to their home and the boys now have a play room.
She gives some updates on family matters and notes that her son, Tom, has enjoyed Ronald's book, The Hobbit. She hopes that it will prove a success.
