Marjorie Incledon (Aunt Mink), writes to Julian to wish him a happy new year. Like him, she could not make Edith's funeral but has spoken with Christopher and was invited to celebrate R's (JRRT) birthday with them. She was invited to stay with Priscilla and indeed did, for three days.
She mentions the news of a C.B.E. for Tolkien. She is pelased that a writer of fairy stories can be honoured in this way.
