TCG Letter #2478

From
J.R.R. Tolkien
To
Mabel Day
Date
11 November 1944
Type
Unknown
Transcript
Unknown
Tolkien writes to Mabel Day of the Early English Text Society on the matter of Ragnar Furuskog. He had written to Day on the matter, which Tolkien has learned of. Tolkien remarks that as the Cambridge manuscript is not accessible at present and he needs only withhold his transcript to stop the work, but feels that is not the attitude to take.

He feels that Furuskog could work on the "collateral and closely related languages", feeling that such research could prove useful.
