TCG Letter #2647

From
Ronald Eames
To
J.R.R. Tolkien
Date
28 September 1948
Type
Unknown
Transcript
Unknown
After not hearing from Tolkien after writing a Letter from Ronald Eames to J.R.R. Tolkien • 21 August 1948 (resent 30 August 1948) (#2645), Ronald Eames writes again. The five artists have asked if a decision has been made yet. Eames remarks that they are asking for their illustrations to be returned to them.

Some time between 29 September and 7 October, Tolkien likely telephones GA&U to arrange to visit London. He decides that Pauline Baynes work suits the story well with her style of mock medieval illuminations.
