TCG Letter #2843

From
Ida Gordon
To
Dan Davin
Date
6 June 1951
Type
Unknown
Transcript
Unknown
Writing to Dan Davin at the Oxford University Press, Ida Gordon raises concerns about the reductions he has suggested for cuts to her late husbands edition of Pearl.
Notes
Around 8 June, Tolkien and Davin meet and discuss the volume. He says he is happy for Ida Gordon to edited or omit any of the parts he has provided for the volume.

Although Tolkien is thanked, and his work reference a handful of times in the published volume, he is not credited officially as a contributor to the work. However, he edited, provided notes and commentary for the volume.
