TCG Letter #2888

From
J.R.R. Tolkien
To
Alina Dadlez
Date
1 November 1963
Type
Unknown
Transcript
Partial
In this letter to Alina Dadlez at George Allen & Unwin, Tolkien writes that he thinks the covers for the Polish translation of The Return of the King are of a 'Mordor hideousness', but Professor Mroczkowski indicated in his correspondence that the text is much better. He also asks Dadlez if he can get access to any of the Polish royalties for him to spend.
Notes
Poland is behind the Iron Curtain at this time, so the royalties being collected by the Polish publisher are not accessible to Tolkien or George Allen & Unwin.
