The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien 1977

The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien 1977
This book isn’t in perfect condition,
Because it has been used. sold as seen.
Will you be the lucky person to buy this book
Because this is a book you may love to own.
I don’t know if you can remember the last time
you feel a really strong desire to buy this book?
yes and remember to bid early and then just
keep bidding more and more, until you win.
Because you may feel really good
when you buy this book.

I may feel really good. No return policy; not sure if I'm so keen on bidding now. What if I don't feel really good after buying it?

Garm, i'm curious about your posting regarding the copy of ROTK. Do you just mean its not a first state, or am i missing something?

Perhaps I was being a little hypercritical; but not much. The first printing of RotK has no sig. mark 4, nor the sloping text.

The dustwrapper here has one-line reviews of each volume on the back flap, whereas the true 1st state has none.

So yes, I guess I am talking about first state as opposed to edition. Well anyway; it's still the vendor's fault for getting me het up.

Thanks for a good chuckle garm! I think you should contact the vendor and let him know that he's masquerading a 1/1. as a true 1/1 and then try and explain it to him!
