Laurel,
I bought one of the previous copies for $250 that wasn't damaged. Not sure who bought the other.

Looks like someone made a steal, auction ended early with only one bid.

When did Christopher flat-sign any copies of CoH in 2007? He didn't attend any official or unofficial launch of the book. Even HC's official launch didn't have any flat-signed copies. No other copies have ever appeared on the market flat-signed that I recall.
I emailed the seller.
I don't believe this to be genuine.

Auction then finishes early. Not sure if this was/is genuine. I'm sure whoever won it just wanted to see it in the flesh to have a closer look. If it's a fake, it looks pretty good from the photograph. Although, does anyone think that CT would have signed it where it's signed had he had the book put in front of him? Right below his father's name...
Too me a book is just a book despite whos autograph inside

Having a look at other items the seller has for sale. All books & at least half a dozen (without counting them here) signed. So, a pretty odd response (to a question of provenance) considering the seller is selling so many other signed books. Also note that the seller makes no claim about them being signed; another pretty suspicious method of listing, thus avoiding claims of mis-selling.

I saw it and thought the same. The photo isnt great and the wording is fluffy to say the least. Glad stayed clear

That also isn't the signature style he was predominantly using at that time.
Could be real, just as (more) likely isn't.
CT signatures are two-a-penny anyway (thanks to all the limited editions), so I don't think it is worth attributing too much value to them, even where they are genuine.

I had dealings with a vinyl seller many years ago who employed the exact same template of selling signed copies yet did not mention it anywhere, then when he got caught he changed the tactic to only saying that he could not guarantee items were genuine. He got into trouble in the end but another seller then started who was connected. Long story short.... This sig not only looks fake as pointed out but the tactics are slippery.

As soon as I see any seller that deals predominantly in signed items, I assume they are a crook.
