Hobbit/LotR Film Tie-In Editions

Posted this on Reddit last week but haven't had any luck... I hope one of the experts here can lend a hand please:

I know this isn't a very exciting subject, but if anyone happens to know, I'm just curious about these film tie-in sets from a completist standpoint.
Specifically for HarperCollins paperback sets that include H with LotR, I've seen:

1. 2012 A-format: ISBN-10: 0007509847/ISBN-13: 9780007509843
2. 2013 A-format: ISBN-10: 0007525524/ISBN-13: 9780007525522
3. 2014 A-format: ISBN-10: 0007525516/ISBN-13: 9780007525515
4. 2014 B-format: ISBN-10: 0008112835/ISBN-13: 9780008112837

Did the 2012 and 2013 sets have a matching B-format release? Thanks!

Perhaps I could just ask something more specific:

Does anyone have the first set I mentioned?

1. 2012 A-format: ISBN-10: 0007509847/ISBN-13: 9780007509843

If so, I'd be very grateful to know in what country it was printed. All of the copies I've seen of this set have been printed in the US (although they were published by HarperCollins), most likely for sale in Canada. I'm wondering if there is a matching set that was issued and printed in the UK and if so, is the ISBN identical or different from the edition above?

I know paperbacks (and especially these more recent editions) don't interest many members here, but surely there must be other completists out there!

I don't really collect paperback boxed sets except those more than 30 years old. I don't collect film tie-in anything :) I decided not to be a completist when I realised it would involve buying a lot of stuff too expensive for me at one end of the spectrum and a lot of crap at the other end.

Just had a look at my copy of this set.

Thank you Trotter, I really appreciate that! So for what it's worth, the Canadian and UK sets have the same ISBN.

If you had asked me a year ago I would have told you that there'd be no way a film tie-in book would have any place in my collection... I don't know what happened, I must have blacked out... all of a sudden I now have nearly all of them

I think I have all of them, but have given up on collecting new paperbacks, hard-back only for me going forward.

Yip, me too. Bought quite a few Pb boxsets just to look at them, in the past; but sold most of them on. Don't really collect stand-alone Pbs except the odd new edition of The Silmarillion. Not really buying new hardbacks either aside from new material.

EDIT: Actually, was just looking at what I have bought. Aside from B&L, obviously (new release), the only other Tolkien title I've bought this entire year (which kind of surprises me) is, surprise surprise, a copy of The Silmarillion. Looking further back, aside from new releases (of which there have actually been quite a lot) & copies of The Silmarillion, I haven't bought anything else since September 2015 (a deluxe copy of HoME vol. II). Surprising...

Likewise. I have purchased the new releases (although not "A Secret Vice"), a Longman's Hobbit and an Unwin Hobbit. That's about it. There is nothing on the horizon I have plans to purchase, other than older stuff as and when if it turns up at a good price (and the Bodleian book) . There doesn't seem to be much of interest for sale at the moment.

I'm not even planning on getting the second edition of the Chronology and Guide, as I still find the first edition is more than detailed and accurate enough for my level of commitment to the subject matter. I see value in it for the more scholarly, of course.

Edit: If the pocket LOTR uses some variant of the original 1st Edition DJs, I'd probably pick it up.

I have pre-ordered the Chronology and Guide for a decent price, as I write notes all over my reference titles it is perfect timing that the reissue is out this year.

I don't really see that most people will need an updated version though. As you point out, and rightly so, it is the scholars who will buy it and people like me who although study for private enjoyment will find more data useful.

I have found that trying to be a collector and studying from the same books quite difficult, so while my bug of collecting all manner of editions was in its infancy I stopped and am sticking to books I do not mind making references all over.
