The Morgan Library's is finally opening the doors to the Tolkien Maker of Middle-earth exhibition to the public tomorrow morning. They are even offering a free copy of the exhibition catalogue to the first three people through the door at 10:30 AM. I don't think they quite understand how popular this exhibit is going to be... tomorrow and throughout the exhibition.

The exhibition will run from January 25 through May 12th. Today was for press only to help get the news out about the exhibition, and press members were allowed to take pictures inside the exhibition hall. Please do remember, no picture-taking will be allowed for the general public! Since you won't be able to take your own pictures, I have gathered a few from Myla Malinalda here to whet your appetite. If you will be anywhere New York City before the exhibition closes, you should definitely plan to visit, and be sure to give yourself a few hours to have time to see everything and absorb it all.

In association with the NY Tolkien Conference & Fellowship, there is a two day symposium planned for March 16-17, which has sold out even before the exhibition itself has opened. Other events are also planned, and most are ticketed - if you are interested, you really should book ahead of time before those sell out as well! The lecture by Wayne Hammond and Christina Scull on January 31st is also already sold out.
