Also hopefully they will do Letters by JRR Tolkien (and re-do the HoME in matching slipcases and designs!)

Or better still produce a new edition of letters that follows the Hammond/Scull 'Companion and Guide' in design. 3 volumes should suffice with future entries online like in the case of the T.S. Eliot website.

The furthest I can realistically expect Letters going is as a print on demand hardback edition.

I don't understand who that would benefit given its publication has been maintained since it was first released.

but not in hardback. They did a print on demand for The History of Middle-earth Index, which initially came out in paperback about 8 years prior - and has never been out of print.

That ship has sailed, I think. I can't imagine there would be very many people willing to fork out for another HoME (I wouldn't).
