Proof copies of all three LOTR volumes for auction

I have added a few notes in a comment to the article - mostly based on information from the A&U archive.

Thanks for the update! Very useful to know more details. I didn't notice on my first reading that the first two volumes are slipcased (made by a bookbinder), so clearly the ROTK volumes were added to this collection at a later time.

Update - the final hammer price was $21,000 so including the 20% buyers premium someone paid a total of $25,200 for the set.

Not a bad price for all three, I think. I hope they end up in a good home.
