Here's that Silmarillion with the less common jacket design if anyone's been looking. I didn't remember them being on the 2000 converted PB as well as the 1998 first.... or was it that it was only hard to find on the 1998 ed?

The second state jacket is the one you find on the 2000 Hb/Pb hybrid. And it's not uncommon to see it on the standard first impression Hb either. Is that what you were asking?

Oh, yes.. more or less. Thanks! Though I thought it was uncommon to see on the first imp HB. That's really not so?

Not sure about "uncommon". These editions are incredibly easy to come by (at least in the UK); very cheap & I'm almost certain all variants aplenty. But I may be mistaken.

Either way the one you linked to... isn't a 1998 first.

Yep gotcha, thank you again for that note. I used to have that whole series but decided it was taking up too much space and that it'd make for a lighter move without it. Here's an old pic...

Nice. Never really taken all those HC-style editions & put them together like that. I think I have everything you have there bar one or two.
