Another Christopher Tolkien Signed UK Silmarillion

Hi all, my first post...

If any one is interested, I believe another UK First Edition First Printing (Billing and Sons) Silmarillion, signed by Christopher Tolkien, appeared on Abebooks just recently:

It’s also difficult to say the signature is actually in the book with the pictures they’ve put up! It would’ve been nice to have a pulled out photo of the signature on the page, don’t you think.

I'm sure the signature is on the f.f.e.p.

Tbh, sitting with two of these already, the idea that I have £2K+ worth of books is basically nonsense. I don't believe a book like this should be anywhere near this price.

I'd agree. I think asking prices will settle back. The idea that a CT sig is worth a £1000 (given the book is worth nothing) is a bit daft.

I bought a signed Monsters and the Critics about ten years ago for under $100 USD. I'd say in today's market, a valid signed Christopher Tolkien "standard" book (meaning, not one of the deluxe/super-deluxe limited editions) would be quickly snapped up at that price, likely sell quickly at £300 or so, and won't sell when priced near or above £1000. Just my gut feel on what's moving on the market nowadays.
