An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.

Can't see them sticking much to the story.

I'm VERY curious about this. Will it be released to cinemas, or streaming?

"a fresh and bold spin" usually means a crappy offshoot that has little or nothing to do with the actual source material. Also, casting - meh.

It is a theatrical release - was supposed to happen last summer, but they delayed due to COVID-19.

I am sure it will end up on disc and streaming eventually, after theatrical run is complete.

Older article, but has good info still as far as I am aware: https://www.slashfilm.com/the-green-knight-release-date/

I have to say, based on that trailer, I'd agree. The voice work and acting was all weirdly off. Had that fan-film feel to it.

The colour pallet looks nice. That is about as nice as I can offer, otherwise it just whiffes of the typical trailer for an average movie.

Actually, I missed the fact that there was a full trailer and a teaser trailer. The teaser is just weirdly off, but the full trailer just looks like any other fantasy-type movie -- neither especially good, nor especially bad. At least it isn't superheroes...
