My Hobbits are the only books I *really* care about to the extent that I'd properly miss them. I do find myself wandering upstairs to "take in the view" if I'm working on something that I'm finding especially stressful. It isn't quite as good as sniffing a cat belly, but it is a good substitute if said cat is not available.

LOL, I keep mine on a shelf that is within eye sight with my chair and desk in my study.
