The problem is that with titles like Lydney Park, there are usually one or two floating around and probably a similar number of potential buyers, so it doesn't take much of an increase in demand to mean there are no copies floating around. It probably gives quite a distorted view of the market for the item to go from some to none, relative to the actual change in demand.

Looks like it may have been stored poorly. Perhaps stacked in with a bunch of other books unevenly...overtime it probably warped the spine.

Every time one of these comes up for sale, I'm happily reminded of this crazy episode:

I noticed the same 2 copies on Abebooks that you did Stu. When lataraoxalic started pushing the prices of 'lydney park' upwards i thought those 2 copies on AbeBooks would go fast and they sure did. It might be a new normal for this item.

That is an insane exchange. What was it Junior Soprano said? "some people are so far behind in a race that they actually believe they are winning".

That EXACT exchange is the first one i read on this site after finding it ?. I had started my Silm collection and was researching (googling) info. Somehow i ran across that conversation an i remember laughing as i was reading through the entire exchange. It got rather heated (potentially one sided) if i remember correctly
