Hi all,

I've been collecting the 1st printings of the HC Deluxe Editions throughout the years, on and off, whenever possible.

After a very long break, I am trying to list all the books available on this collection and search for the ones I'm missing.

Can someone please double-check this list and tell me if I forgot something?

I saw that, but there are books listed there that don't belong to the same suit (like the orange Sil), so I wanted to ask here and make sure.

Thanks! I wondered whether there was one for The Lay of Aotrou and Itroun but I guess it was too small to make a Deluxe out of it even for HC

Yeah, I wouldn't have put it past them for trying. Could have used cardboard pages like a toddler's book!

They could have inflated the page count with multiple illustrations and further commentary to reach ~160 pages and publish a Deluxe version more or less the same size as Kullervo. Maybe they'll eventually bundle it with something else.

Yeah, I imagine the main issue is they need it to be wide enough to fit the horizontal title. Anything smaller than Kullervo and they are out of luck in that regard.

I'm not sure extra commentary would be viable. It is already mostly just padding. I actually prefer the Serbian/English dual language version from a commentary perspective. The English can be a bit rough in places, but it has a lot of heart.

If you really want a "deluxe" Kullervo, Easton Press managed to do it:

That's beautiful. Elegant without being over the top. I like the font too. I wish they'd give the same treatment to other Tolkien books.

They have done quite a few of them. They are a mixed bag in terms of styling, colours and sizes, mind. They periodically reprint (though they never have statements of reprinting)
